Update, 4 Dec 2025:One of my optimizers needed replacement (under warranty). Jack Acuna diagnosed the problem, then returned when the part came in to install it. The weather was cold, wet, and windy, but he arrived right on time, promptly got up onto my roof (despite the wind and chilly temps), replaced the part, took pictures, and walked me through everything he did. He was cheerful, prompt, skilled, and thoroughly professional. Couldn't have asked for a job more well done. Thank you, Jack. Second review! 12-3-25 Solar Service is excellent. The electrician Jack was awesome. Very knowledgeable. He checked out the complete system and discovered my phone app was not connecting properly so had the system connect to my home internet. Discovered I had missed a couple updates including a firmware update. Then he cleaned all the panels. With before and after photos. Awesome service!I had to have my roof replaced due to hail damage. However I also have solar panels that would need to be removed and then reinstalled after the roof replacement. That’s what these guys doand they do it very well! The entire team were awesome professionals. Took them about a half of the work day to remove the panels, mounting hardware and the conduit. Took almost the entire day to reinstall but remember this involved summer heat over 100 degrees. They got everything installed cleaned the panels which will improve their power capability and tested the system to make sure everything was working properly. I will monitor production output over the next few days but have confidence everything was done properly! Will use again!

Solar Service is great. It was easy to schedule, and they communicated clearly. Brandon was our technician, and he was very professional: prompt, friendly, diligent, thorough, and explained things in an understandable fashion. The before and after pics of the panels is dramatic. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pay to have them cleaned, and I already saw an increase in production the first day after the cleaning. I will definitely be using them again, and cleaning more often. I have used Solar Service for cleaning our solar panels for a couple of years now. Over a year ago we had raccoons under our panels and had Solar Service install Critter Guards preventing animals from getting under the panels. They work well but last week two of the panels were partially opened by a raccoon. Angel from Solar Service came out within a couple of days and repaired the Critter Guard. He took pictures of the repair and checked all the other panels also.I'm glad they were able to repair the problem quickly before any damage was done under the panel. I recommend Solar Service for cleaning and solar panel service.

I found Solar Service after frustration with my previous solar provider. I read the reviews and contacted them. They quickly diagnosed the problem with the inverter - it wasn’t working. My previous provider told me to turn it off and on and never came out to look at it. I am very happy with their customer service and installation.

Had Solar Service out for a minor problem. Solar Service was quick to respond minimizing my solar array's down time. Jack Acuna was extremely helpful as always. I've been a member of their annual maintenance plan for several years and have always received excellent service. This past two months while replacing my roof I chose to also replace my 16 year old solar system and upgrade it. Obviously I chose Solar Service because of our existing relationship and their exceptional work. From beginning to end on this project, they have been professional, courteous, thorough, and efficient. My one on one experience with Jack, Angel, and Louis was excellent and rewarding. They always took the time to explain the work to be done, how it would be accomplished, and the technical items so I could clearly and completely understand. We had our system evaluated for the possibility of installing a battery backup.The electrician from Solar Service reviewed our system and electric bills and told us the cost would not be justified because our system is older and is not producing 100% of our electricity although it is performing well and our electric bill is low. We appreciated his honesty. While he was here he found that one of our panels was not working so we will have that one replaced. We contacted Solar Service a couple of years ago because our system quit producing and our original provider went out of business. They got our system running again and have given us exceptional service .

Angel arrived on-time and started right in. They set the cleaning up during the heat of the day so the hard water was drying quickly and leaving a film. Angel wouldn't stop until, not only were our panels clean, there was no film. Outstanding job.

I highly recommend Solar Service!I was in need of a solar company to remove and reinstall my solar panels because we were getting a new roof due to hail damage. My roofer could subcontract with a solar company, but I preferred to arrange this work on my own and be in control of the timing. The solar company that originally installed our panels was no longer doing business, but when I googled the original solar company's name, it pulled up a phone number for Solar Service. My research online showed they had very good reviews and a local office in San Antonio. I scheduled an estimate, and Angel was the one who came out to provide me a quote. I was very impressed with his professional knowledge and his personable demeanor. I asked a bunch of questions and he provided answers that made me feel confident in my decision to use Solar Services. In addition, the quote for the job was very fair and competitive. When I called to schedule the job, I asked if Angel could be on my install team, but learned he no longer does installs. I was assured the San Antonio office has two excellent install teams working with Angel, one of which would be handling my job. I was hoping I would be as pleased with the team that handled my removal/reinstall as I was with Angel.One day before my roofers were scheduled, I had Project Team #2 remove my 20 solar panels in preparation for our new roof install. All 3 on the team were very hard working, personable, extremely skilled, and conscientious. They communicated with me throughout the process, were very respectful of our property, and neatly stored our panels in a safe and secure location in our backyard until time for reinstall. Thanks for a job well done! Look forward to seeing Project Team #2 back in a few weeks to get the panels reinstalled and operational again. 👍About 3 weeks after our new roof was completed, Project Team #2 - Orlando, Aaron, and Luis - came back to reinstall our solar panels. They showed up on time as scheduled and it was good to see familiar faces. Because of my previous experience with them, I knew I could trust them to get the panels back up, cleaned and operational, while being careful not to damage the new shingles. They went above and beyond to provide excellent service, kept me informed throughout the reinstall process, and left the work area clean of debris from the job. It is so refreshing to get to interact with friendly, communicative, professional, hard working, service technicians who like what they do, work great as a team, and make customer satisfaction a priority! An added bonus - they provide a PDF report of all the work done, with before and after photos. Thanks Orlando, Aaron, and Luis!I hope I don't need any solar repair or replacement any time soon, but if and when I do, I will definitely use Solar Service to do the work!

Dante did an excellent job diagnosing the problem and fixing it. We had Tesla technicians out here who said that they fixed the problem, but they didn’t (and tried to void our warranty), and so I’m really glad that after calling Solar Service they fixed it immediately.

I don't generally give 5-star reviews because I think it implies going the extra mile. In this case technician, Jack, did just that. I was scheduled for a cleaning, but I asked Jack to check on my egauge system which allows monitoring of solar production vs. energy consumption. Jack was aware of how finnicky this system is and after spending a good amount of time researching the problem and trying different electrical outlets for the monitoring end, he was able to fix the problem with an inexpensive replacement tp-link box which plugs into the router so it can talk to our LAN. Eureka! After 10 months without monitoring capabilities, it's restored. Our solar panels are also clean and ready for more energy production. So thanks, Solar Service, for a job well-done.

Here in Austin we are very fortunate to have the resources of Solar Service and notably, the expertise provided by Dante for our Solar battery installation. My words can scarcely convey Dante’s exceptional knowledge and skill. Dante led a crew to update our solar panels and install two batteries. He was extremely punctual daily for meeting with Austin Energy and communicating with us all aspects of the battery placements and code requirements. The end result is a beautiful, logical and very tidy solar hub. Dante was fantastic every step of the way!

Dante was very clear about his analysis of my solar system. He identified my problems and fixed everything at a very reasonable price. I say this in the context of contacting anther two companies who were ready to charge more for just taking a look than Dante and company charged for a visit and prompt fix. I might not recognize when I am getting a bad deal, but this is most certainly a case of getting an honest good deal from someone who is a master PV electrician. I will go to Dante any time I have a PV system problem.

The company of fast at removing the panels and reinstalling all 24 panels back in a matter of few hours. What Tesla estimated to do the same work in 6 months timeline, these guys did it well within 3 weeks. Solar Service Tech (Jack Acuna) performed an inspection of our solar system, and tested the solar unit to make sure it was working properly. He washed and cleaned our solar panels. He inspected and adjusted the critter guard. We are very satisfied with his knowledge, workmanship, and professionalism. Price quote was very much in line with what we expected. Dante is the person you want working on your solar system. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and thoughtful. He managed to get my inverter replaced under warranty, and once it was received for install, solar service promptly scheduled my install appointment. Within an hour of arriving he had replaced my old unit and had setup my communications via wifi (as requested). He gladly answered all my solar questions and even made a fix to the inverter housing so any moisture or water retention would be drained via weep holes (the reason my previous inverter died.) I’d received quotes for the replacement of my old solar system and had very reasonable options. Dante is a fantastic electrician, problem solver and customer focused. I had a very non-standard legacy set up that was challenging. He came out when an issue arose from the prior set / configuration fixed it and explained it he is 6-Star. I plan to add additional panels and will use solar service.

Yesterday I had old solar panels, upgraded to new and improved higher output panels by the Solar Service team. Luis, Orlando, and Aaron announced their arrival, arrived on schedule, and notified me of the completion of the project by noon! They worked quietly and efficiently to get the job done. Really appreciate the great work of this company. My solar provider went bankrupt and my system after producing brilliantly was down 50%. Dante came out and perfectly diagnosed the problem (needed new optimizers), gave me options with clear timelines on how to fix, educated me well on how to best care for my system, and got me scheduled for the fix 2 days later. My system is back up to 100% and I have a new level of access to track my system that my previous company didn’t provide. After experiencing the massive disappointment with the solar company that sold me the panels (which came with a lifetime warranty that now won’t be fulfilled), this company stepped into that gap and gave me some peace of mind and quality service. So grateful

It took me a while to write this review because there were a few steps spread out over time, but I can now say everything was handled start to finish, and handled very well.I called Solar Service because one of my AP Systems microinverters went out. Honestly, I was worried this was going to be an expensive repair. Instead, they immediately knew the part was under warranty, got the replacements for free, and only charged me for the service. That service bill—just a few hundred bucks—was worth every penny. They repaired three microinverters in total. At first only two were available, and I had to wait about 60 days for the third one to ship from AP Systems, but Solar Service stuck with it and got it done.I worked with both Ambrose and Dante, and they were top-notch. True professionals who knew their stuff and showed up with great attitudes. That goes a long way.When the time comes to add a battery backup or even replace the whole system at end-of-life, Solar Service will be my first call.If you’re looking for new solar or need repairs on your existing system, I can’t recommend them enough. - Lamar

Techs are great and do fantastic work. Unfortunately, they can't seem to keep the techs, which meant our inverter swap got rescheduled twice. Between SolarEdge being slow to provide a warranty replacement and all the reschedules we didn't produce any electricity for a month from diagnosis to swap.
