Home Battery Backup
Backup power that keeps your house running when the grid goes down — installed and serviced by one company.

What a Home Battery Actually Does
A home battery sits between your solar and your electrical panel. When the sun is out and your house is using less than the panels are making, the extra charges the battery instead of going to the grid. When the grid goes down, the battery takes over and keeps part of your house running.
That last part is the honest limit worth understanding up front: a battery usually carries chosen circuits, not the whole house at once. Refrigerator, internet, lights, outlets, a well pump. Running central air through a long outage is a different conversation, and it depends on how much battery you put in.
Why Texas Homeowners Ask About This
Most of the calls we get are not about saving money on the bill. They are about the last time the power went out and stayed out. People who already paid for solar find it genuinely strange that their panels sit idle during a blackout — and they are right to find it strange.
Without a battery, a grid-tied system shuts down when the grid does. That is a safety requirement, not a fault. A battery is what changes it.
Four Things to Settle Before You Buy
- What do you want to keep running?Make the list before anyone quotes you. The answer drives everything else, and it is the question most salespeople skip.
- For how long?An evening is a very different system from three days. Both are reasonable answers; they are not the same price.
- What do you already own?Your existing inverter and panel layout decide what can be added cleanly and what means replacing equipment that still works.
- Who services it in year six?The install is one day. The equipment is on your wall for a decade. Ask who answers the phone after the installer has moved on.
What We Install, and Why
We install Tesla Powerwall and Enphase batteries, and that is deliberate. Both are platforms rather than boxes — the battery, the solar and the EV charger all speak to each other and are managed in one app, by one company, with one place to call when something misbehaves.
We are not the cheapest route to a battery on a wall. What we are is the company that is still here in year six, that services what it installs, and that works on the rest of your system too.
Adding a Battery to a System You Already Have
This is most of what we do. You have solar from somebody else, it works, and you want backup added to it. Whether that is straightforward or awkward depends almost entirely on the inverter you already own — which is why we look before we quote.
Doesn’t matter who installed it. We will tell you what fits, what does not, and what we would do if it were our house.
